Globally, more food is wasted or lost than ever before. Roughly one-third, or approximately 1.3 billion tons, of the food produced for human consumption gets lost or wasted every year.
Waste has a negative social, economic, and environmental impact so at Danone, our program Battle Against Waste aims to ensure no consumable food goes to waste whilst we halve our food waste in line with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 12.3.
When food is still fit for consumption, Danone works with local food redistribution partners alongside The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) to ensure no food goes to waste and food & drink products reach those in need.
In 2022, the Danone & GFN partnership provided the equivalent of 7,207,767 meals donated across 10 countries!
Join us as we partner with GFN for our Battle Against Waste employee giving campaign. Make a donation and 100% of your donation will be matched thanks to a generous GFN anonymous donor. Your donation will double the impact to support people around the world to have equitable and efficient food systems.
Together we can help millions by supporting GFN’s global network of food banks.
If you’d like to know more about how to play your part within Danone; contact your local D2D Battle Against Waste lead to reduce and redistribute food waste in our operations.
