Employee Engagement Programs

Inspire your team and multiply your impact in the communities where you work through our custom employee giving and volunteer opportunities.

Employee engagement produces positive outcomes—for everyone.

Donations and volunteers are critical to locally led food banks and their long-term impact. That’s why GFN facilitates relationships between corporate partners and member food banks through local, regional, and global employee engagement programs. These programs can contribute to your company’s goals by:

  • Supporting the communities where you live and work
  • Demonstrating your commitment to addressing hunger and climate change
  • Inspiring and motivating employees through meaningful opportunities, from in-person volunteering to skills-based projects to virtual food drives and more.
Business units with high employee engagement achieve higher profitability, productivity, higher customer loyalty and engagement, better safety, and lower turnover among other positive outcomes.

Ways to Engage Your Employees

Whether you’re a team of ten or 10,0000, we’ll craft an employee engagement program that meets your goals, motivates employees, and—most importantly—moves us toward more resilient food systems. Employee engagement programs could include:

  • Employee giving campaigns: Start your company’s employee giving campaign.
  • Virtual food drives
  • Opportunities to volunteer at a GFN member food bank
  • Virtual skills-based volunteer projects
  • Advocacy and social media engagement
  • “Thank a Food Banker” campaigns

Employees + Collaboration = Impact

Every action makes a difference, whether it’s hosting an employee giving campaign across your global organization or a department virtually supporting our global efforts. Need some inspiration?

  • DHL hosted a global employee giving campaign that raised over $91,000.
  • SteelSeries donated a portion of its monthly sales and featured GFN at an online gaming event.
  • Clorox shared special messages through a “Thank a Food Bank” campaign to complement employee giving.

PIMCO: A Partnership of Time, Talent, and Trust

PIMCO’s commitment to alleviating hunger is evident in all aspects of its partnership with GFN. In addition to its historic investments to help newer food banks scale their operations, PIMCO employees contribute their time and talents to member food banks around the world through on-site volunteering and skills-based projects.

Skills-based Volunteering

Social media is an effective way for food banks to engage its local partners, volunteers, and donors–but many food banks are already stretched thin when it comes to staffing. PIMCO’s internal digital marketing experts volunteered their time to develop a special social media toolkit so GFN member food banks in Southeast Asia could maximize their social channels with limited time and resources.
