29 September, 2020 marked the first International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste to recognize the fundamental role that sustainable food production plays in promoting food security and nutrition. To commemorate this day, The Global FoodBanking Network and Champions 12.3 hosted a unique conversation which highlighted opportunities at all points along the supply chain to simultaneously make progress towards Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12.3 – halving food loss and waste (FLW)–and SDG2–Zero Hunger at a key moment when food systems are facing historic challenges.
