As a result of the conflict in Ukraine and the COVID-19 pandemic, supply chains are disrupted and food prices are spiking. Rising food prices don’t affect everybody equally. Individuals and families with lower incomes are expected to be impacted most.
In this global context, food banks will be needed as much as any time in recent memory. They step up to meet increased need for food relief when communities are faced with unimaginably difficult situations. During emergencies, food banks know how to source food in times of scarcity, distribute food when supply chains are broken, and meet needs when prices spike.
GFN supports the world’s most geographically diverse food bank network, active in more than 40 countries and thousands of communities. Our work helps food banks build stronger, more resilient food systems—before, during, and after crisis situations.
Your support is crucial to building a world where everyone has consistent access to wholesome food.

In addition, we are featured in the 2020 University of Pennsylvania Center for High Impact Philanthropy’s High Impact Giving Guide, designed to help donors make a bigger difference with their philanthropic gifts. Access the guide here to see how your gift to GFN has impact!
Double Your Impact
A generous donor is matching donations to The Global FoodBanking Network from October 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023. First-time donors, participants in employee giving campaign, or donors who have not made a gift to GFN since June 30, 2019 qualify to have their contribution fully matched.
