There is enough food in the world for everyone, but more than 700 million people face hunger while one-third of all food is lost or wasted, producing up to 10 percent of greenhouse gas emissions.
From July 21 through August 8, as part of the Million Meals Challenge 2025, Bloomberg is offering a double match on all employee contributions to The Global FoodBanking Network to support local food banks in more than 50 countries that connect more people to wholesome food while reducing emissions from food waste and protecting natural resources.
Every $1 USD you donate provides 14 meals to children and families facing hunger across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and other underserved communities worldwide. With the Bloomberg double-match, that means a donation of $25 USD will provide 1,050 meals, and a donation of $50 delivers an extraordinary 2,100 meals to those who urgently need them.
Food banking offers a solution to both chronic hunger and the climate crisis. GFN works with partners in over 50 countries to redirect surplus, healthy food to those who need it. In 2024, our network provided food to more than 40 million people, reducing food waste and creating healthy, resilient communities. We help the food system function as it should: nourishing people and the planet together.
