Alyssa joined GFN in July 2019 as Executive & Research Assistant and transitioned to her current role in October 2021. In this role, she supports prospective Network members and individuals interested in starting a food bank in their community. Prior to joining GFN, Alyssa was a Special Assistant at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, supporting the work of the Rockefeller Foundation Fellow on global governance and pandemic preparedness. She has also worked at the U.S.-China Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit organization that works to develop U.S.-China business relationships. Alyssa holds a Master of Arts in Asian studies: China from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Notre Dame.
When not working, Alyssa likes sewing, painting, scrapbooking, reading, watching TV, traveling, and walking along Lake Michigan.
