The Global FoodBanking Network Welcomes Giselle Aris as Executive Vice President of Programs
CHICAGO (November 14, 2025) –The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) is excited to announce Giselle Aris as executive vice president of Programs, where she will lead the organization’s core work of supporting member food banks in their mission to reduce food waste and alleviate hunger.
“We are thrilled to welcome Giselle to the organization, leading our programmatic work to support food banks and advance the model of food banking around the world,” said Lisa Moon, president and CEO. “With global hunger remaining persistently high, and many countries experiencing challenges from economic shocks and disasters, Giselle’s understanding of food systems and hunger will greatly benefit GFN and our food bank partners. She brings an open and inquisitive spirit that will contribute to the dynamic learning culture that is at the core of food banks’ work and mission.”
Aris joins GFN with more than 15 years of experience pursuing innovative strategies to improve food and nutrition security around the world. Most recently at Land O’Lakes Venture37, where she served as the chief development officer. In this role, Aris led all growth and partnership initiatives, including the design and successful execution of a strategy to double the organization’s revenue over three years. At Venture37, Aris was on the executive leadership team, helping to grow the organization’s global portfolio, shape programmatic and revenue strategies, and design, evaluate and improve socially impactful programming. Prior to becoming chief development officer, Aris spent five years as Venture37’s technical director for a global portfolio of programs focused on agricultural innovation and climate resilience. In this role, and across the span of her career, Aris has partnered closely with market actors across agricultural systems, from farmers and agricultural cooperatives to input suppliers, aggregators, distributors and consumers — all with a focus on building more equitable, resilient food systems.
“I am honored to be joining an organization that champions a network of diverse, innovative, community-led food banks around the world,” said Aris. “Alleviating hunger is an urgent, immense challenge that requires supporting local communities in creating stronger, more resilient food systems that work for everyone, everywhere. I am deeply energized by the opportunity to work with the excellent GFN staff to enhance the support and learn from the network, as we advance our collective mission to improve food and nutrition security around the world.”
In addition to leading day-to-day programmatic work, as a member of GFN’s executive team, Aris will play a key role in shaping the future of GFN through the development of its next organizational strategy for 2027 and beyond.
