“Nuestra alianza con The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) apoya directamente la misión de Unilever de reducir su huella medioambiental aumentando mientras que incrementa su impacto social positivo. A través de la amplia red de bancos de alimentos locales de GFN, donamos productos que de otra manera irían al vertedero y los utilizamos en beneficio de las comunidades en las cuales trabajamos.”

Directora de Alianzas Globales, Unilever

The Global FoodBanking Network is a 501(c)3 charitable organization registered with the Internal Revenue Service in the United States of America; contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by US law. Tax deductibility outside of the US is dependent on local tax regulations. GFN’s Tax ID number (EIN) is: 20-4268851

The mission of GFN is to start food banks where they are needed and to support food banks where they exist. To estimate the number of meals delivered for every US $1 invested in GFN, our team:

  • Calculated the number of meals provided through GFN’s capacity-building and food sourcing programs, based on impact assessments provided by the food banking organizations served.
  • Determined that funds invested in GFN training and education offerings were budget relieving for food banking organizations served. This determination was based on a 2015 independent assessment that found that food banks regularly engaged with GFN’s training and education programming distributed meals much more quickly than those that were not. Although the assessment found that there was a leverage effect through investing in training and education, this calculation only assumes dollar-for-dollar budget relief to be conservative.
  • This value estimate is based on FY16 and FY17 data and will be updated in years to come. For questions or further information, please contact info@foodbanking.org.
