The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) is the only not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating, supplying and strengthening food banks and food bank networks throughout the world.

We are dedicated to creating sustainable solutions, building efficient private and public partnerships and providing environmentally friendly alternatives to surplus grocery product disposal.

GFN currently operates in14 countries, home to over one-third of the world's 854 million undernourished people.

Today, GFN supports the largest non-governmental hunger fighting network in the world, as well as the only such network operating at a global level.

The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) is seeking a seasoned fundraising professional with a minimum of 5 years major gifts philanthropy experience, including individual, corporate, foundation and government grants development. This position will involve travel throughout the U.S. and occasionally abroad as needed for developing project proposals and securing major grants and gifts. Proposal writing and excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills and a strong track record of success in major gifts development are required. Established in early 2006, GFN is a Chicago-based non-profit agency presently working in 14 countries to support the development of food banking internationally as a measure to alleviate global hunger. Presently GFN’s annual budget is supported by major gifts from foundations, corporations and individuals. The goal of this position is to identify and secure financial support from individual and institutional donor prospects to strengthen and expand the funding base of GFN. GFN is building national food bank networks in four countries: Colombia, India, Israel, and South Africa

Our strategy for developing a National Food Bank Network is to first create the leadership participation in key cities and nationally in local and national Forums for Food Security. These Forums will be responsible for developing the first food banks in these key cities, and the national network, to assist millions of people in need.
