Volunteer

Each day, hunger is experienced in every community across the globe. Worldwide, there are more than 1,000 food banks rescuing more than 3 billion pounds of food from the waste stream and feeding an estimated 40 million people. Reducing hunger depends on the volunteer work of literally millions of people who know that they can make a difference.

There are as many different ways to volunteer. You can help out in your local community through activities such as:

  • tutoring kids at your local children’s feeding program
  • repackaging donated food for use at food pantries
  • transporting food to charitable agencies
  • clerical, professional services at a Food Bank or Food Bank Network

Its simple - get involved today - and get your family and friends involved. If you’re traveling abroad, the GFN welcomes your volunteer time.
