GFN Seeks Additional Founding Sponsors

GFN has a business plan that is based on an estimated budget of $8 million over the next four years (FY2007 through FY 2010). We have set a goal of raising $7.2 million (90% of the 4-year total) in order to provide the investment needed to firmly establish GFN’s work and provide the time to develop a sustaining base of donors for our annual financial needs.

To date, we have received cash or multi-year pledge gifts that total of 33 percent of our goal. Major grants have been received and pledged from The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, John & Editha Kapoor Charitable Foundation, The Kellogg Company, Cargill, Inc., Procter & Gamble, DLA Piper, Kraft Foods, Mazon: A Jewish Response to Hunger and Share Our Strength. Thirty-eight individual major donors have also contributed over $100,000 and founding GFN members have contributed $75,000.

The elimination of hunger and food insecurity is fundamental to all aspects of living. Food banks save lives and provide nutritional support for individuals suffering in absolute poverty.
